FAQ
What is the difference between whey and casein protein?
Both whey protein and casein are protein fractions of milk. Casein is the main component of cow's milk protein, accounting for approximately 80% of its total protein content. Casein acts as a ‘slow-digesting protein source’ and is absorbed by the body over several hours. In comparison, whey protein is one of the ‘fast protein sources’. This means that the body can absorb and metabolise it more quickly.
WHAT ARE SOME GOOD NUTRITION TIPS FOR BUILDING MUSCLE WITHOUT FAT?
1. Make sure you meet your protein and calorie requirements 2. Getting the right amount of protein is crucial. Use high-quality protein sources such as eggs, (fat-free) dairy products, lean meat (e.g. poultry), fish and soy products (e.g. tofu, soy drinks). Protein intake should be spread out evenly throughout the day. Include the right amount of high-quality protein in your breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as in snacks and immediately after training sessions. To support muscle growth and recovery after strength training overnight, it may be beneficial to consume additional protein shortly before going to bed. 3. Eat as naturally as possible! Avoid ready-made products (e.g. packet soups, fast food) and choose whole, nutrient-rich foods such as natural yoghurt without added sugar, wholemeal instead of white flour, homemade salad dressings with extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice and fresh herbs instead of ready-made dressings.
IS A HIGH PROTEIN INTAKE HARMFUL?
According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), there is currently no upper limit for daily protein intake due to insufficient data. However, the EFSA considers a high protein intake of up to 1.7g protein/kg body weight per day to be safe and harmless for healthy adults.
CAN I STILL USE DYMATIZE PRODUCTS AFTER THE BEST BEFORE DATE (BBD) HAS PASSED?
The best-before date is the date until which a food or product can be consumed without significant loss of taste or quality and without risk to health, provided it is stored properly. As this is a best-before date and not an expiry date, the product may still be safe to consume after the date indicated. However, as the manufacturer, we do not guarantee the quality of our products if they are consumed after the best-before date. The expiry of the best-before date can not only affect the taste, appearance and microbial spoilage of a food product, but can also influence its effectiveness.
WHY CAN'T I FIND CERTAIN FLAVOURS HERE THAT ARE AVAILABLE IN THE USA?
The fact that certain flavours are not available here is based on regional differences in taste preferences and has been evaluated in numerous market studies. Therefore, it is possible that certain flavours are not available in your region, but are available in the United States.
HOW CAN I SEE IF A PRODUCT CONTAINS AN ALLERGEN (E.G. LACTOSE, GLUTEN) THAT I NEED TO AVOID DUE TO AN INTOLERANCE OR ALLERGY?
As a company, we are legally obliged (according to the Food Information Regulation) to label the most common allergens in the list of ingredients of our products and to highlight them (visually) if they are contained as ingredients. Dymatize also voluntarily declares any potential traces of allergens. If you have any further questions about allergens, please contact: nutritionteam@dymatize-athletic-nutrition.com
WHAT ARE DYMATIZE'S QUALITY STANDARDS?
Satisfied customers are the primary goal of our quality policy. All our products undergo extensive microbiological and sensory testing before leaving the company. If a product does not meet the specified quality criteria, it does not reach the consumer. Of course, we also pay close attention to the selection of raw materials. IS THE SMALL HOLE IN THE WHITE SEAL OR THE INTERMEDIATE LID OF OUR TINS NORMAL OR IS THIS A DEFECT?
The small hole in the white inner lid of our products is not a quality defect – this hole (also known as a pinprick) must be present. It ensures that the seal lid can withstand high pressure differences (pressure equalisation). This prevents the can from collapsing or bursting. The pinprick is currently present on all Dymatize cans.
